It just occurred to me - somewhere around I have a (slightly mangled) window AC unit. (Hey, it was free.)
I wonder if I could gut it and use the parts to make a phase-change cpu cooler for my computer? Might have to change the refrigerant, might not. I also wonder how badly I'll probably injure myself messing with this thing.
I should probably hook it up and see if it works first, though. Judging by the way it's dented, the way the cord's damaged (not cut, more like it it was yanked hard across a corner of something), and where I got it (discarded), my guess is that it fell out a window while plugged in, so they just bouught a new one rather than attemmpt any sort of repair to the cord or housing.
