If you ask me, a cool way to do an arcade would be to take a big empty warehouse, add rows and rows of arcade machines to most of it (organized into rows by age - oldest in one row, newest in farthest row from there), then sell electronics in another section (or allow others to sell electronics there for a fee). Doesn't have to be new electronics, could be refurbished, 'salvaged', self-assembled, famicom multicarts, kits, whatever.
Main problems I'd see is affording to supply enough power. And cooling in the summer. At least you wouldn't need to heat the place in winter, now would you? :D
